As a residential community center, we provide the 'full-spectrum' of care: from housing and childcare to mentoring and life skills, creating a clear and supported path to opportunity."

At Kevin's House, our vision is a community where everyone has access to the resources and support they need to thrive. We work towards this goal every day, by providing vital services and advocating for policies that promote equity and justice.

From providing emergency assistance to helping people find stable housing, we are proud of the impact we have made. But there is still much work to be done, and we are committed to continuing our efforts.

Greeting with love, I’m Tamiyah Anise the acting treasurer & outreach coordinator and here at K.H.O.S.I!
In the world of outreach I noticed I have been doing it my whole life; from volunteering, feeding and teaching humans of all shades and ethnicities. It’s truly a blessing to serve and honor The Most High! Outreach is a lifestyle and passion and I do it with my whole heart! Including outreach & services I am a working mother and college student, life is busy but life is Great! For free time my children and I attend play dates, community centers, libraries, parent groups and much more! I am a proud member of KHOSI and the mission we stand for, it’s nothing like keeping a legacy alive.

The Kevin’s House Scholarship Fund was created to honor students whose journeys reflect courage, perseverance, and faith. Since 2021, Kevin’s House Outreach Services Inc. (K.H.O.S.I.) has supported young people who have faced significant life challenges. Students who may have experienced foster care, grief, instability, personal setbacks, or obstacles that made the path to graduation feel uncertain.
This scholarship is our promise to them: Your story matters. Your resilience is seen. Your future is worth investing in.
Each year, we partner with school guidance departments to identify seniors and college students who embody gratitude, strength, and determination. These are students who may not have had the easiest road, but whose character shines through their ability to rise, rebuild, and press forward.
Award Levels:
Recipients are selected based on a personal story of overcoming adversity, not on GPA or traditional measures of success. Our goal is to honor the person, not the paperwork.
All scholarship recipients are recognized in person at our Legacy of Love Event each March, where we celebrate their achievements, share in their journeys, and surround them with the support of a community that truly believes in their potential.

Instead, she used each step to rebuild her confidence, strengthen her resilience, and clarify her true goals.

"To reach the finish line to me is to constantly pursue the end result of a goal that one has set their mind to, no matter the complications or obstacles that may lay in the path
During my time at the Culver Summer Naval School, I encountered a challenge that significantly shaped my perspective on confidence and resilience. After an initial setback during a mandatory swim test, I spent a year grappling with self-doubt. This experience taught me a vital lesson about the difference between overconfidence and true preparation.
I spent the following year dedicated to improvement, hitting the pool daily to ensure I would never face that same feeling of inadequacy again. When I returned for my final year, I realized that success often comes down to finding the most effective path forward and staying committed to the goal.Through this journey, I learned that while obstacles can temporarily impact your confidence, they also provide the fuel to train harder, think smarter, and ultimately achieve your objectives.

My journey through school has been a process of transformation. Since starting my education at age five, I have always felt my potential growing, but the transition into my teenage years brought new lessons in productivity and maturity. I have focused on becoming a critical thinker and a responsible leader to shape a future where I can achieve my dreams and support those who have stood by me.
One of my greatest challenges was navigating the social pressures of middle and high school. I faced difficulties with bullying and had to develop a deeper sense of self-awareness and a commitment to being respectful and kind to others. Overcoming these obstacles required me to shift my mindset and focus on what it means to be a truly successful person.
"You have to follow a path in life in order to succeed and outgrow your potential... if you struggle in life, think about that as your motivation to get better and make your life better for you and your family."
To me, reaching the "finish line" means becoming someone who works hard to provide for others. At 17, I am driven by the goal of working for myself and my family, using my past struggles as the fuel to stay motivated and self-centered on my long-term aspirations.

Future Plans: Winthrop University | Major: Early Childhood Education
The Journey: Zion faced a profound challenge early in her life: navigating the heavy silence and confusion of her first experience with loss and heartbreak. By channeling her energy into self-betterment—through baking, fitness, and reflection—she learned the invaluable lesson of finding peace within herself and enjoying her own company.
The Vision: Currently studying Early Childhood Education at Winthrop University, Zion is proof that even the most painful personal situations can be catalysts for emotional maturity and strength. For her, the "Finish Line" is a state of healing and growth. She aspires to be a compassionate educator who helps children build their own foundations of confidence and resilience.

The Spirit of the Scholarship
"When I founded Kevin’s House Outreach Services Inc., I did so with a specific vision: to find the students who, like my son Kevin, have had to fight for their 'Finish Line.'
The scholars you see on this page weren't just chosen for their academic potential; they were chosen for their resilience. Each of these young leaders has faced a moment where the weight of the world—grief, financial hardship, or personal struggle—threatened to stop their progress. Yet, like Kevin, they leaned on their faith, found their village, and refused to give up.
As you read their profiles, you aren't just seeing students; you are seeing the living legacy of Kevin Antoine Richey Jr. Through your support, we are turning a mother’s love into a bridge for the next generation of engineers, advocates, and world-changers.
To our scholars: We are so proud of the grit you’ve shown. To our donors: Thank you for helping us prove that when we finish with gratitude, we all win."
— Chrystal Gray Founder, K.H.O.S.I.vocating for policies that promote equity and justice.
